My views on the books and it's title

Ma sha Allah I Really recommend this book! The sister REALLY makes you feel special, happy and like your NOT doing "drudging" work. She makes you feel like it's a special task, a loving blessing al HamdulilAllah. It was Very easy to read and I did not feel like a "bad mom" or a "unorginized clutz" It made me feel normal and able to slowly incorportae these tips =)

Inspirational & thoughtful read

This is such an inspirational read, mashallah. I keep it by my bedside along with Ameera's other homemaking book to reread often. It covers being a modest Muslimah, making the home, being a wife, being a mother, being a techer, and so much more - but above all, being a servant to Allah subhana wa ta’alah. Every topic is written in the perspective of Islam with hadiths, vereses, and stories and I absolutely love that - this is such a beautiful and rare gem for the Muslimah home maker. Ameera speaks of the spiritual benefits of our work and how our family is a blessing from Allah.. She truly has a passion for being a home maker and it shows in every single word she writes. She has definitely changed my attitude of thinking, especially her writings on being grateful and positive. I really feel this book has made a difference in my life, alhumdulillah. I highly recommend this book, along with her other writings.

I Want A Donovan!!!

This is another great Donovan story! Each time I read about the sexy Donovan men I say that he's my favorite, well Savian is my favorite lol. I loved that he was tall and gorgeous, but also the quiet one in the family, that had some issues. It took a special kind of woman to pull back the layers of Savian, and Jenise was just that woman. Full figured, beautiful, and strong. I'm so happy to a curvy woman getting the hot guy! She was all the things he never knew he needed. This was a hot page turner that I couldn't put down. And the Elders OMG!!!!! Don't want to give anything away, but I didn't see it coming!! I can't wait for the next one, I am loving the journey!!!!

Savian & Jenise----That Christmas Magic

Wrapped in a Donovan is book 12 in the Donovan series and we meet Savian Donovan, one of the quiet, reserved Miami Donovans, who is next in line to find love. Savian is currently a suspect in the murder investigation and employs Jenise Langley to represent him. Sparks fly when these two meet but the road travelled is never easy. As the holiday approaches Jenise wonders if she can break through the shield Savian wears around his heart as well as allow him to remove hers. In addition to their torrid love affair, the secrets from the family are slowly being revealed.
Mrs. Arthur has again penned another love story caked with passion, mystery and yes a cliffhanger. She did a great job with character development is that readers will glimpse Savian’s quiet demeanor and his struggle to not let anyone close. He is very reserved and deep down believes he is destined to be alone. He never saw Jenise coming. Jenise is able and determine to break through the barriers Savian erects and with the help of that “Christmas magic” she prays he will open up and want more with her. In the midst of this love story, readers are still learning the secrets of the fathers can definitely impact the children. The younger Donovans are determine to find out what secrets the Seniors are harboring. Secrets are known to be dangerous and the ones in this family may be taking a deadly turn. Readers do not want to miss this installment. Warning: There is a cliffhanger that will leave have your mouth dropping. Great read.

Savian Donovan is a complex man that the outside world don’t know the true Savian except his family and he feels no one ever will until he meets Jenise Langley. Jenise is a very reputable attorney that just moved to Miami to open her family law office Langley Law office and is hired to defend Savian who is being accused of murder. Savian and Jenise are attracted to each other and secretly became lovers the affair goes on for months, but they are both holding back in the relationship because of things that happened in their past. Jenise is determined to clear Savian’s name and to prove to her family that she is a capable of running the Miami branch law firm. Savian is wanted to clear his name and not allow the past to hunt him forever, but is also fighting that he is falling in love with Jenise. Will Savian and Jenise stop fighting falling in love with each other or will they allow incidents in their past story the leave they could have.
In this 12th installment in the Donovan series A.C. Arthur will have you seating on the edge of your seat. This book will show you that two people who are stubborn and trying not to fall in love with one another, but also this book will show you that family in everything despite the tension and turmoil they will show the outside world that they are one. The cliffhanger in this book will leave you with your mouth hanging open.

Our world is filled with angels who reach out to help those in need. This is a great story to teach children about the value of serving others. It is also beautifully illistrated. I highly recommend this book to any one with kids young or old.

I got this book from the library and really enjoyed reading it with my children. It is a very touching story about finding joy in serving others. I loved that it showed the angels helping the girls in their service. The book is beautifully illustrated. My children especially like all the different angels the girls made at the end. I loved the lessons taught in the book about giving service all through the year. This is a book I plan to buy for my own library!

This book is excellent! It's such a great way to teach young kids about kindness and serving others. We don't always have to do something major to make a difference. I read this book for the first time as an adult, but even then it made me really stop and think about what it means to be selfless and serve other people. These girls learned while they were serving other people that they could actually become closer, and they were able to reach out and help them in the process. I think we would all do well to try to be "snow angels" wherever we are, no matter the time of year.

Much Better than I Thought it Would Be

This is a great book. It is not a blow-by-blow book about what happened at Enron. He uses good examples to make some excellent points. I've read dozens of investing and stock market books and this is clearly one of the best ones. It is especially good for the individual investor that works at a corporation that has good benefits including 401k, ESOP, etc. Give it a read.

The success of a gamble

Writing a book about a hot topic like the Enron saga, that will please both a scholar and the man in the street is a gamble.
Jorion is technical yet fully understandable by anyone, his prose is that of a storyteller yet he is precise and factual. This balance between popularization and specialization is rare.
And on top of that, the idea to insert his own reactions and personal comments to the chain of events makes the story lively, when the reader tends to have a fictive dialogue with Jorion when he agrees or disagrees with him.
And the practical "lessons for the investor" are worth reading...and keeping in mind for the future...

Investing in a Post-Enron World is a truly unique book that gives you a contemporaneous insight into stock valuation. The author presents off balance sheet financing, dividend pay-out policies, 401K pension plan administration, executive compensation, and much more in a comprehensive analysis that forms a solid basis for stock valuation. I think this book should be a required reading for anyone with a profound interest in finance.

Worth reading several times

Peter Venison knows what he is writing about, and knows how to write well. His "100 Tips for Hoteliers" is easy to read and every page gives you ideas about what to do better in your own business, hospitality or not.

This is one of the few books on hotel or resort management which acknowledges that things can go wrong too. Peter Venison shows how to deal with endless rain or falling off bed legs and many more of the daily troubles reality puts in our plate. "101 Tips for Hoteliers" is far more to the point than the hospitality management classics written from the viewpoint of managers who avoid leaving their A/C offices. I recommend it to every new and every old hotel or resort manager.

Assumes too much and tries to do too much ...

The book has a lot of good information ... if you're building a hotel from the dirt upwards, and fully involved in opening, staffing and marketing. I don't consider that as necessary knowledge for "every successful hotel professional." Perhaps 40% of the book would apply to those interested in hotel management, and even less if one were interested in being a better hotel employee. There's little doubt that the author knows his stuff, but I cannot recommend it as being appropriate for one and all.

Fun, easy read and a very good resource

I have a small, family-run hotel, so many of the things he talks about (the huge mega resorts on private islands) don't directly apply to me. Eventually we DO want to grow to a larger hotel, and the tips he has to offer will certainly be useful. He talks about considerations like which way rooms face (east/west, etc), and how to get guests to forgive construction mess and when not to push their buttons. It is obvious that the author has traveled extensively, and has taken note of everything he thinks would be helpful. He includes countless stories and personal observations. It's easy to read and is broken down into small chapters. It's the perfect book to keep in your car or bag for quick reads.

If you get this book and are the kind of person that wants an outline of "do THIS and then THAT will happen," don't expect the book to lay everything out for you. This is an awesome resource for a way to get ideas flowing in your own mind about how to set up and run your hotel.
